The US Farm Bill is expected to be voted on tomorrow in the US House of Representatives. The bill under consideration includes the Senate’s version of the Biomass Crop Assistance Program (BCAP) which is significantly scaled down when compared to the 2008 Farm Bill.
The bill would limit the one-time establishment payments for biomass projects to no more than 50% of the cost of establishment and are not to exceed $500 per acre. Collect, harvest, storage and transportation matching payments may not exceed $20 per dry ton and are available for a period of two years. The bill provides $25 million in mandatory funding for fiscal years 2014 through 2018. See Politico
